The Dua of Laylat al-Qadr

Arabic:

اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني

Transliteration:

Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul-‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni

English Translation:

“O Allah, You are Pardoning and You love pardon, so pardon me.”

1. Allah’s Attribute of ‘Afw (Pardoning):

   • This dua emphasizes Allah’s attribute Al-‘Afuw (The Pardoner)—the One who erases sins, forgives mistakes, and purifies hearts.

2. The Power of the Supplication:

   • Though brief, it is profound in meaning, teaching us to turn to Allah with humility, hope, and sincere reliance.

   • By acknowledging our shortcomings, we are reminded that Allah loves to forgive, encouraging repentance with confidence and love.
